Last night awards ceremony

The ski instructors came to our hotel especially to present awards to members of their ski groups tonight. Individual students were given awards for showing a positive attitude all week along with demonstrating great progress in their skiing technique.

Group 7 award joint winners were Ioan Lewis and Sam Corkill for being ambitious from the beginning of the week, developing from absolute beginners to proficient skiers.

In group 6 Ella Jones was presented the award for skiing progress and for showing good humour at all times.

In group 5 Ryan Williams was presented with the ski award as he has made excellent progress during the week and skied confidently down the black slope on the fourth day.

Daniel Richards was presented with the group 4 award! The whole group made great progress from snow plough to parallel turns but Dan stood out for his excellent style.

Fiona Vickers was given the group 3 award. The instructor commented that it was a group of mad guys with guts and who wanted to have a lot of fun but one pupil stood out for her determination and technical ability, Ffion.

For group 2 the skier of the week award was given to Jason Edgeworth for most improved technique and speed as well as being a gentleman and never leaving a pupil behind.

In group 1 Harry Hopkins was named skier of the week for both technical prowess and speed!

The snowboarder of the week was awarded to Josh Petersen for his progress during the week and for picking out great lines through the powder today.

The Richard Llewelyn Award
In the many years of Cowbridge ski trips it has become a tradition to present a very prestigious award to the  best overall skier. The Richard Llewelyn Trophy is awarded on the year 9 and 10 ski course in memory of a former pupil. The student winning the award is presented with a trophy with all the names of previous winners on it. In a break with tradition this year the award has been presented to the snowboarder Ben Terry as he impressed the instructors and teachers so much with his snowboarding expertise.

Each ski group also gave their ski instructor gifts to say thank you to them for teaching them so well during the week. Here is Pierre who instructed group 4 wearing his very fetching hat given to him by members of group 4.
